LOVE on Camera: CBC Highlights LOVE’s Work in Helping Young People Overcome Social Isolation

We are thrilled to share that LOVE (Quebec) was recently featured in a CBC News article discussing the growing issue of social isolation among youth in Montreal. The article sheds light on the challenges faced by young people, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, and how organizations like LOVE are stepping in to make a difference where resources are increasingly lacking.

LOVE was happy to welcome CBC Montreal to one of our programs at longtime school partner John Rennie High School, where our team led a MAP workshop focused on close-up photography and self-expression. During the workshop, youth explore self-expression through the lens of a camera. This creative activity encourages participants to connect with themselves and their classmates by intentionally capturing small details and thinking about and sharing the stories behind them.

Through programs like this one that foster community, creativity, and self-expression, LOVE provides safe spaces for youth to express themselves and build meaningful connections. By empowering young individuals to share their stories and support one another, LOVE plays a crucial role in combating the effects of social isolation and reminding young people that they are not alone, and that they can ask for help.
